I’m kidding.

My name is Kevin! I’m a writer, and I got laid off of my day job in May 2023, so I decided to become a writing coach. It’s more complicated than that, of course. My boss was dope (shout out to Erin Musolino), and last September, she gave me a heads up that the company was in the process of being bought out and the new regime would likely let most people go. So I started planning my next move. I gathered all of my best writing, turned on the afterburners, and started pumping out more work. I also had a dream of helping other writers in their journeys, so I laid the foundation for my own writing coach business. By the time I was officially let go, I was somewhat ready to go.

My official title is Creative Identity Coach. I get so much fulfillment in helping newer, inexperienced writers discover what kind of writers they are. I also help writers brainstorm their ideas and characters. And in rare cases, I’ll provide developmental editing services for full manuscripts. But I’d much prefer to work with writers on their voices and ideas.

I guess the point of this blog will be to share techniques and methods that I’ve picked up over the years, as well as to share the progress I’m making on my way to becoming a true author. What does “true author” mean?

I don’t know, man. I’m just here so I won’t get fined.
